Interanation Food Exhibition SIAL 1“Here in Attica one feels that everything is subordinated to a rhythm which is simple, sure, and balanced. Everything here possesses an aristocratic grace and ease: the frugal, arid land, the graceful curves of Hymettus and Pentelicus, the silver-leafed olive trees, the slender ascetic cypresses, the playful glare of rocks in the sun, and above all the buoyant, diaphanous, completely spiritual light which dresses and undresses all things” (Nikos Kazantzakis, “Report to Greco”).

Attica stands out thanks to its diversity.

Attica is proud of its unique light, landscape, culture, and rich fruits.

It is difficult to include all aspects of the rich tradition of the Attica land in a few lines.

A rich tradition from past and modern times that lays a solid foundation for the future.

Olive oil, wine, honey, vegetables, figs, pistachios, animal origin products, marine fishery products and other nutritional “treasures”. They are all valuable goods contributing to the comparative advantages of the Region of Attica and enhancing the dynamics of Greek commerce.

For this reason, events such as the SIAL InternationalFood Exhibition, which promote Attica’s products internationally, are a priority in our strategic planning.

The Region of Attica stands by the side of small producers and new entrepreneurs, supporting the sustainability of their activities. We create new opportunities for citizens and businesses alike, making full use of European financing tools, attracting major investment, promoting exports and encouraging synergies with all employer and small and medium-sized enterprise organizations.

At the same time, the Region of Attica puts an emphasis on targeted actions in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of its products, and performs in full its regulatory duties through constant and intensive food inspections to protect consumer health.

In this way, the Region of Attica is implementing a new growth model using a new production model that respects the environment and the local ecosystem.

Today, more than ever before, the land of Attica is a crucial factor for enhancing and promoting the Greek primary sector while also contributing to the recovery of our national economy.
